Global Pet Expo Wins a Spot on Trade Show Executive’s Coveted “Gold 100” List
Trade Show Executive’s (TSE) “Gold 100” honors the top 100 shows that they deem to have “set the gold standard” for the trade show industry – this year, the Global Pet Expo made the cut. The Global Pet Expo is an annual, three-day convention that connects buyers with the best of the best in all things “pets” from around the world. As the pet industry continues to grow, the Expo has set a precedence of excellence when representing pet products. “Earning a coveted spot on TSE’s ‘Gold 100’ is a true testament to the tireless efforts of our tremendous team and our loyal attendees and exhibitors that have all made the show what it is today,” said Andy Darmohraj, American Pet Products Association’s (APPA) Executive Vice President and COO.

According to the APPA, the show is the largest pet products trade show in the US, showcasing 16 football fields’ worth of pet products, more than 3,000 product launches, and 150 first-time exhibiting companies. Of course, the driving-force behind this event is the love of pets: from consumers and brands, to retailers and those who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make this annual event a reality.
In 2011, the global pet food market was estimated to be worth $58.6 billion and by 2017 the market is expected to be worth a staggering $74.8 billion. With increasing disposable income, a growing number of consumers are bringing pets into their homes. Pet owners are increasingly concerned about pet health and providing pets with nutritious food, which directly benefits the global pet food market. Toys, bedding, clothes, leashes, supplements, etc. – all of this also adds to the overall increased growth that the industry experiences year after year.
An Expo for the Ages
The winning formula for this expo is that it includes opportunities and information for a varied audience. Global Pet Expo is open to independent retailers, distributors, mass-market buyers and other qualified professionals. Exposure through this medium is invaluable. This recognition from the TSE legitimizes the Expo as event that showcases its participants in the best way possible.
